Move Features
Stagehand has a number of handy features for easily moving and copying things that are otherwise impossible or tedious in Discord.
Moving Messages Within Server - /move copy
Using this command requires a user to have “Manage Channels” permissions. This will move all of the messages of a channel, thread, or post and repost them somewhere new. When transferring messages that were sent by a bot, i.e. MultiMuse or Tupperbox, the settings will be preserved, so it will be a direct copy. If there are any messages sent by users in the channel, they will also be reposted, but they will be sent by Stagehand as opposed to the original user. Don’t worry about users being pinged, the new posts will not trigger sending a notification when pings are re-sent.
- /move copy destination - required field. By default, if a channel, thread, or post is entered here, it will simply move the messages from one to the other. If a forum is entered here, Stagehand will create a new post with (by default) the same title as the channel, thread, or post that you’re copying.
- /move copy archive_original - if the source of the move is a forum post, then setting this value to “True” will lock and close the original post, effectively removing it without actually deleting it.
- /move copy last_n_messages - if you only want some of the contents moved, select this and enter the appropriate number. Remember: count the messages manually, nitro-length posts by MultiMuse or Tupperbox are counted as more than one message.
- /move copy rename - if Stagehand will create a new forum post or thread, then select this to change what the new post or thread’s name will be.
- /move copy source_thread - if this command is being run in a channel, thread, or post other than the one you’re trying to move, then select this and select which channel, thread, or post you want to move instead.
- /move copy is_threaded - if moving to a channel, setting this to “True” will create a thread in that channel instead of moving the contents to the channel itself.
Moving Messages Out of the Server - /move server
This functions almost exactly like /move copy, except the destination is a channel, thread, or post in another server instead of the server you’re running the command in. As opposed to using the pop up list to pick a destination, you’ll need to right click and copy link of the destination in the other server, then paste into the destination_channel_link box here. Please note: you will need Stagehand and to have channel management permissions in both servers.
Copying Tags - /move tags
Using this command requires a user to have “Manage Channels” permissions. If you created a forum without copying an existing one, or you want to make edits to all of the tags in your server, this will help apply those settings everywhere.
