StageHand can mirror selected server events and StageHand module actions into a dedicated log channel. Use it for moderation audit trails and debugging automations.
See the glossary. Support: https://discord.gg/nd6FUaBpaV
Prerequisites
- Manage Server (or equivalent) for setup commands
- Bot permissions in the log channel: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links
- A text channel reserved for logs (staff-only recommended)
Quick start
- Run
/logging setup(or open dashboard Logging). - Set the log channel.
- Toggle which modules and events you want.
- Optionally add ignored roles for message delete/edit (see below).
Done when: deleting a test message in a non-ignored channel produces a log embed (if message events are enabled).
Configuration
Dashboard (recommended)
StageHand dashboard → Logging — log channel, module toggles, event toggles, and ignored roles for message delete/edit.

Ignored roles (message delete)
When a message is deleted, StageHand checks the audit log to see who deleted it (not who originally posted it). If the deleter has any ignored role, the delete is not logged. Self-deletes (no audit entry) are still logged normally.
Typical uses:
- Proxy bots (MultiMuse, Tupperbox) that delete the user's message before posting as a muse
- Bot accounts or automation roles that churn messages
- Staff roles that routinely clean channels
View Audit Log permission is required for this filter to work. @everyone cannot be added to the ignore list.
Message edit logs are unaffected by ignored roles (webhook/bot edits are already skipped).
What gets logged
Setup distinguishes:
- Module actions — StageHand features (scenes, dice, tickets, etc.) when they emit log events
- Server events — Discord events such as message delete/edit, member join/leave, role changes
Exact toggles appear in /logging setup and the dashboard editor.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Fix
Nothing logs
Confirm log channel is set and the bot can send there
Deletes still logged for a role
Confirm the deleter (not the poster) has the role; bot needs View Audit Log
Too noisy
Turn off unused module/event toggles before widening ignored roles
